Dog Breed Highlight

The Bulldog - Infamous Brute of the Cartoons

The character of the Bulldog is very different than what has been portrayed in cartoons and other media. We selected the Bulldog as we really enjoy his good natured temperament, smooth coat, wrinkles and strong physique.

Bulldogs are indoor dogs and make wonderful loyal companions, and get along well with family members, including children, as well as other dogs.

The Bulldog is a medium-sized dog that is also known to be determined, protective, and non-vicious.

If you are looking for a new companion dog, the Bulldog may be a good choice. Be certain to consider the unique needs and health issues of this dog breed before making your decision.

Dog Training Fundamentals

Obedience and the Three Senses

Successful dog training is possible only in the presence of perfect understanding between the dog trainer and his/her dog. As such the dog trainer must have full knowledge of the dog's mental capacity and an understanding of its character, as well as personally possess and apply essential attributes to the training.

Because of the close bond of affection between every person and their dog, many people in the past held to what they believed to be true, that the dog can and does reason.

The Amazing Flying Dog

A woman is out looking for a pet, and so she's trying the local pet shops. She walks into a small pet shop, and explains her need to the attendant. He thinks for a moment, and then says, "I've got just the thing for you madam. I'll just get him."

With that, he disappears into the back of the pet shop, and returns a few seconds later with a cute little puppy. "This dog is a special dog," he tells her. "It is able to fly," he explains, and with that throws the dog into the air. The dog immediately begins to float gracefully around the pet shop.

"There is one problem with the dog, however. Whenever you say 'my' he'll eat whatever you've mentioned. Watch... 'My apple!' " The lady watches in astonishment as the dog zooms over to the pet shop attendant and furiously devours an apple he has produced from his pocket.

"He's cute, and so unusual. I'll take him," she says, and a few minutes later she is on her way back home with the dog to show her husband.

"Darling, look what a clever pet I bought today!" she exclaims when she gets back home. "He can fly!"

The husband peers at the dog, and then remarks, "Fly eh? Ha! My foot!"
